There was no hockey on Saturday 22nd November as Gorleston's
league match away against Norwich Dragons 2 was postponed
due to snow on the pitch at Hobart High School Loddon. The
game will now be replayed on the league slip date of 13th
December.
At the same time with the poor weather forecast for Sunday
22rd's 3rd Round HA Vase match at Cliff Park Gorleston and
a scattering of ice already on the pitch Southern Division
side Newbury & Thatcham 1st X1 took the decision not to
travel up and by agreement with the HA the match will be replayed
at Gorleston this coming Sunday with pushback at the earlier
time of 12 noon. This was a wise decision as it turned out
as by 1pm last Sunday the Community pitch was under 2 inches
of snow which was still falling.
This coming Saturday's league match is also at Cliff Park
when the visitors will be Pelicans 2. The visitors currently
lie 7th in Division 3 North east of the NE14 East Mens League
7 points behind Gorleston who stay 5th on 15 points. Pushback
is at 2,30pm.
